Two- and Three-Day Adventures

Our two-day rafting trips give you more rapids and less slow water

Acquired Tastes offers you the most whitewater possible in a two-day rafting trip. On our deluxe overnighters, we camp on private land in a beautiful, secluded spot adjoining our takeout for our Brown’s Canyon trips. We offer you a better camping experience for less money than companies that carry their camping gear on their rafts and camp on public land in Brown’s Canyon. We raft all of Brown’s Canyon on the first day of your trip and camp just below Brown's Canyon in a nicer location on the river with more amenities. We give you a choice of rafting the Narrows, both the Numbers and Narrows, the Royal Gorge, or Bighorn Sheep Canyon on your second day of rafting.

Many companies add slow water to their trips so they can stretch a trip into two days. For our second day of rafting, we shuttle you to the next section of whitewater you have chosen to raft so you get more rapids and less slow water.

We offer our two-day trips in a choice of DELUXE Two-Day Trips and BASIC Two-Day Trips.

Our Deluxe Trips are a total package. You camp at our campsite on private land in a gorgeous location along the Arkansas River. We provide the tents and the meals.

Our Basic Trips are for people who want to camp on their own or stay in a motel. On a basic trip, we provide the rafting and lunch each day and you meet us each day for rafting.

For a great two-day trip for adults, we recommend rafting Brown's Canyon on the first day and your choice of Numbers/Narrows or Royal Gorge on the second day. (Rafters should be at least 16 years old and in good physical condition to raft the Numbers or Royal Gorge.)

For a great two-day trip for families or youth groups, we recommend rafting Brown's Canyon on the first day and the Narrows or Bighorn Sheep Canyon on the second day. (Rafters should be at least 8 years old to raft the Narrows or Bighorn Sheep Canyon.)

The two-day trips priced below include lunch on the river each day. Two-day trips which include the Narrows without the Numbers on the second day are priced lower than two-day trips which include the Numbers and Narrows, the Royal Gorge, or Bighorn Sheep Canyon on the second day.

Deluxe Two-Day Trips

You camp for one night at our campsite on private land in a gorgeous location along the Arkansas River. We furnish the tents and cook your meals. While you are rafting Brown's Canyon, we shuttle your sleeping bag, sleeping pad and personal gear down to the campsite.

When you come off the river, you simply pick the tent you want to stay in and change into your dry clothes. Enjoy a game of volleyball, horseshoes or relax around the campfire while we prepare you a delicious dinner.

After a hearty breakfast the next morning, we shuttle you to the next section of the river you have chosen to raft. Deluxe two-day adventures include two great days of rafting, lunch on the river each day, dinner the first evening and breakfast the second morning.

All deluxe adventures include a beautiful place to camp on private land along the river.

YOU BRING YOUR OWN SLEEPING BAG, SLEEPING PAD, PILLOW AND WARM CLOTHES TO WEAR AROUND CAMP. If you do not have your own sleeping bag, you can rent a sleeping bag from us. If you do not have your own sleeping pad, we will loan you one.
