Numbers and Narrows Trips

The Narrows (a.k.a. Wild Horse Canyon) has great rapids and beautiful scenery. It has rapids similar in difficulty to those found in Brown's Canyon. This nine-mile trip starts off faster than Brown's Canyon but it is not as fast and furious as the Numbers so it gives you a chance to relax more between the big rapids. It is the best choice for families with children or for people who want to raft a section of river comparable to Brown's Canyon on the second day. Other companies take out at Buena Vista on their Narrows trips. We take out at Johnson Village so we do all of the rapids in the Narrows plus we add two more miles and two extra rapids to the end of our trip.

We offer our two-day trips in a choice of DELUXE Two-Day Trips and BASIC Two-Day Trips.

Our Deluxe Two-Day Trips are a total package. You camp for one night at our campsite on private land in a gorgeous location along the Arkansas River. We provide the tents and cook your meals.

On our deluxe two-day adventures, we shuttle your sleeping bag, sleeping pad and personal gear down to our campsite while you are rafting Brown's Canyon. (You provide your own sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, and warm clothes to wear around camp. If you do not have your own sleeping bag, you can rent a sleeping bag from us for $12.00. If you do not have your own sleeping pad, we will loan you one.) When you come off the river after rafting Brown’s Canyon, you simply pick the tent you want to stay in and change into your dry clothes. While you are playing volleyball, pitching horseshoes, or relaxing by the river, we will prepare you a delicious dinner. After a hearty breakfast the next morning, we shuttle you to the put-in for the Narrows.

Deluxe two-day adventures include two great days of rafting, lunch on the river each day, dinner the first evening and breakfast the second morning.

Our Basic Two-Day Trips are for people who want to camp on their own or stay in a motel.

We provide two great days of rafting and lunch on the river each day on our basic two-day trips. You provide your other meals, camp on your own on public land or stay in a motel, and meet us for each day of rafting.

For both deluxe and basic two-day trips, please meet at the Acquired Tastes Office in Johnson Village by 9:00 a.m. on the first day of rafting.

Rafters should be at least 8 years old to raft Brown's Canyon and the Narrows.

We require a minimum of six people to do a two-day trip. If you have fewer than six people in your party, we can often add you to another group. Please call us at 1-800-888-8582 to check availability.
