Acquired Tastes has an outstanding safety record. Our company has operated under the same ownership since 1986. Our worst injury in 32 years of operation occurred at lunch when a 16-year old boy jumped off a large rock and broke his leg when he landed on the beach.
Although we work hard to ensure that our guests have a safe and enjoyable trip, whitewater rafting is an adventure sport and you participate at your own risk. Please be aware you will be required to sign a liability waiver for yourself and for your children before your trip.
Children are not all the same and water conditions vary, so please feel free to call us if you have questions about taking your children rafting.
We recommend that children be 8 years old or older to raft Brown's Canyon and 10 years old or older to raft the Narrows. (Depending on water conditions, younger children can often do these trips if they hang on to a safety line rather than paddle.) Rafters should be at least 16 years old and in good physical condition to raft the Numbers at higher water levels and 14 years old and in good physical conditio to raft the Numbers at moderate water levels
